Every business owner and entrepreneur worth their salt has researched many avenues for marketing their products and services online.  Due to the flood of Multi-Level-Marketing schemes and scams out there, you’ve no doubt discovered more “get-rich-and-have-fun-doing-it” ideas that you ever knew existed, and several more ‘wonder product’ announcement.  (I know, because I’ve worked more than a few of them myself over the last 20+ years.)

The Magic is in Marketing

Take care not to fall prey to the product myth.  One FACT which becomes clearly evident while building any enterprise is that online business success is NOT ABOUT THE PRODUCT — it’s about marketing.  If product alone were the determining factor of online marketing success, then piling cases of Wonder Bras at the end of your driveway would turn you into an overnight millionaire.

In reality, success is the result of commitment to, and implementation of, a system which provides proven and predictable results, as well as a community that supports its continued growth.

Beware the Franchise

Now, I’m not recommending that you run out and buy a McDonald’s franchise, but that’s the easiest example of where the product is mediocre (at best), but where the SYSTEM and Community (corporate) works.  (For a comparison of start up costs and ROI between a traditional franchise and a legitimate online marketing system read this.)

With a little knowledge of your market and the methods of leveraging Social Media, you have a great basis upon which to build a personal, online ‘brand’.  The fact that you are reading this article indicates that you won’t settle for mediocre, either.  Both of these characteristics are strong indicators of your inevitable success within a system and community which feeds your passion.

After working many entrepreneurial angles and failing to achieve the lifestyle which I knew was possible, I finally connected with an international community of successful entrepreneurs who showed me the ropes of leveraging the internet to market just about anything you wish.  Personally, I offer financial education (get your house in order – “Rich Dad” – stuff), which leads to investment opportunities that are normally unavailable to regular Joes.
